If your question is not answered below please go to the 'Contact Us' section for telephone numbers & email addresses.

How do I arrange a referral?

It is usually best to ask your GP for a referral as they will be able to supply relevant details from your past medical history which may be helpful to the consultant seeing you.  If you have Private Medical Insurance you have the option of coming directly, however we strongly recommend you read your Policy carefully as some policies do require a referral from your GP.

Where can I find out about my consultant?

In the menu above, under the heading 'Our Consultants', you will find each consultant has a page providing details of their background, areas of expertise as well as clinic times and contact details for their Medical Secretary.

What are the clinic times?

Each consultant has noted on their page which days they offer clinic times, however we hope to offer a choice of clinic times to best suit your needs.

When is the office open?

11 Kendrick Road is staffed between the hours of 9am to 5pm.  (Some clinic times go on until after 5pm to allow for later appointments.)

Who is my consultant's secretary?

The Medical Secretary for each consultant is listed on the consultant's page, including a phone number and direct email address.  All our Medical Secretaries are highly experienced and will be able to help answer any questions you may have.

How can I help my insurance company to settle my account?

Health Insurance can be confusing, and this is not helpful when you have other things on your mind.  We suggest you mention when making an appointment with us that you have Private Health Insurance, and also keep your insurance company informed at every step of your treatment.

What is a shortfall?

A shortfall is if there is a difference between the amount covered by your policy and the cost of treatment.  You will need to pay for the difference yourself.  It is important to check with your insurer as cover can vary considerably depending on company and policy type.

How much will it cost if I am a self-funding patient?

Please see the Fees page in the menu above, and if you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact our Finance Manager on 0118 920 7040 who will be able to answer more specific questions about self-funding.

What are the facilities like?

11 Kendrick Road was purposefully designed and refurbished to suit the needs of both the consultants and patients.  The building is Edwardian with a relaxed and pleasant environment.  The building itself is wheelchair accessible from the car park where there are also wheelchair accessible spaces and ample free off-road parking.  There are consulting and procedure rooms on the ground and first floor with an accessible lift available.

What about refreshments when I visit you?

In the waiting room on the ground floor there is a water cooler as well as facilities to make tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

How do I get to you by public transport?

11 Kendrick Road is well serviced by the local bus services and is only a short distance from Reading Train Station.  Please see the bottom of the home page, for specific bus route numbers.
