Academic Background:
Paul Hadway qualified from University College
London Medical School in 2000.
His initial surgical training was at Barnet General Hospital where he developed a passion for Urology. He then moved to St George’s Hospital, London to undertake a clinical research fellowship focusing on pioneering penile preserving surgical techniques for penile cancer and urethral stricture disease. He was awarded an MSc in Urology from University of London in 2006, with a thesis based on his work in dynamic sentinel lymph node biopsy in penile cancer patients.
Paul undertook his specialist Urology training in the Oxford Deanery with a Fellowship year spent in Queensland, Australia. There he worked as a Fellow at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, specialising in Robotic pelvic oncology under the tuition of world-renowned robotic surgeon Geoff Coughlin.
Whilst completing his final year of training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, he also held an Honorary Andrology Fellowship at University College Hospital London. Paul worked under the supervision of Peter Malone and Asif Muneer, focusing on both benign and malignant diseases of the penis and the management of urethral stricture disease. He joined the Reading Urology Partnership in August 2014 after being appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust earlier in the same year.
From May 2017, Paul also holds an honorary consultant position at University College Hospital London, where he operates on complex benign and malignant penile disorders for the Thames Valley patients.
